Managing Your Energy with Your Personal Energy Toolkit

What do you seek in your moments of need? Where do you seek comfort?  How do you move through these moments in a healthy and supportive way?

As an energy medicine practitioner, sometimes I may witness and hold space for clients who struggle to support themselves in uplifting and healthy ways. Many may push their needs aside, or hold onto to the story that their needs are never fulfilled.  This is a good day to take the opportunity to start working with your own energy and to find tools that help you heal, process, and transmute these feelings. Equipping yourself with tools that support your well-being when challenges arise.

Putting a kit together doesn’t have to be complex. It’s simply choosing things that help you connect to your energy and help you manage it with intention.  You can collect them all in a satchel so they are quick to find when you may not have your wits about you, have them set up on an altar, or throughout different spaces for easy accessibility throughout the day (car, office, home, purse, etc.)

We have discussed the usefulness of scents in energy healing in a previous blog. The sense of smell can be very empowering. Having an essential oil, dried herb or flower, incense or a scented spray handy can be an amazing tool of aromatherapy to ease your mind and spirit. This is one of the quickest ways to shift our minds more intentionally and ease us out of fight or flight.

As a more tangible tool, crystals offer not just a focal point to start meditation, but energy healing properties that tap into different chakra to release and recalibrate your energy. Certain color stones are recommended for each chakra, but ultimately, what inherently speaks to you is what you should use. If you find calcite helping you create mental harmony over opening your heart, then work with it in those times of confusion.  Stones and crystals can be placed in our living and working spaces or placed in your pocket to ride along with you throughout your day.

Third,  we all benefit from meditating on a daily basis. The practice of meditation speaks to our mind, body and spirit. We have talked about how stones and crystals can encourage and support our meditation practice, we can also use other sacred objects that are near and dear to our heart for nurturing and loving support. I also recommend using a favorite guidance or oracle card decks. Card decks are amazing tools of reflection and guidance. Taking time to reflect upon your card pull and how it makes you feel guided, supported, and points you towhere you should place your intention.  My Luminous card deck offers journey statements as a focus to help guide your processing in a positive way.

Other inspiring tools for your energy toolkit can include a small bell, chime, or other items that call to your spirit. It may be as simple as a picture. A powerful plus would be to also store specific meditations on your phone to play in your earbuds, infusing a few minutes of meditation to work through a heightened feeling or moment of need during the day or night.

One last recommendation: Remember to breathe! Choose something that reminds you to breathe. How we breathe throughout the day often goes unnoticed, and simply taking a moment for a few deep breaths and slow exhales help to calm our nervous system and process what is happening for a clearer mind.

We’ll take a look at these individual tools in the upcoming weeks. For now, I invite you to keep an eye out for items that speak to and your energy body to start building your own toolkit.

Wishing you a beautiful journey to intuitive connection,

Patty
